Who is Matt Lafata and how did Matt Lafata's Frisco Community Newsletter come to be?
Former two-term (6 years) Frisco City Council Member Matt Lafata knew many years ago that in a fast-growing city like Frisco that communication would be even more crucial as the city became more spread out with new organizations, economy and people coming to Frisco.
So with that in mind, in 2001 Matt began what has now become a very popular e-newsletter that goes out every week to over 41,000 people and businesses which keeps Frisco in touch with local happenings. It is arguably the most read publication in Frisco.
Matt is in touch with the citizens of the city of Frisco and has the reputation as the “go-to” guy when it comes to getting the word out about local events.

Professionally, Matt has over 12 years in the Human Resources industry and has been with Frisco-based HRchitect, the leader in HR sytems strategic consulting, since 2004. He is responsible for sales, marketing and strategic alliances at HRchitect. He also extensively studies the Talent Management market place and talks to leading vendors on a regular basis to stay on top of trends in this industry. Matt has moderated numerous Talent Management shootouts and panel discussions for software vendors and HR organizations such as IHRIM. He has also been a featured speaker on Talent Management solutions at various industry and vendor conferences. Matt is also the host of the weekly HRchitect HR Technology Happy Hour WebMingle™ as well as the HRchitect Beauty Pageant webinar series.
In April 2009, Matt was appointed to the IHRIM.link Editorial Committee.
Matt is a long-time business consultant and entrepreneur and has helped build several highly successful businesses for over 20 years. Prior to joining HRchitect, Matt was an Executive VP with Sage Software where he was responsible for corporate development, marketing, sales and product development.
